and... CNN carried a religious rebuttal.

I do not entirely agree with Hawkins. I believe there is a God who created all. He has a good argument that the universe could have been created without a God, however who was it that made it possible for the universe to just create itself. I believe God created the universe even if there is a means to believe that, scientifically, it could happen on its own. God created the universe, even if it can be explained scientifically.

I'm not sure if I agree with Hawking on this matter in particular, but he poses a valid point. All in all, I think what he's saying is an idea to be taken seriously and I think he's a very interesting and pretty brilliant man.

I believe nearly everything Hawking says. Personally, I consider him the Einstein of our century. I'm not a very religious person, because science poses so many ideas that seem to overrule religion in my mind.

I agree with Rachel, I believe there is a God that created the universe. From my religious values I say this because of everything I was brought up by. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I believe God created the universe. If you think about it, how else would any kind of organism be created in the first place.
